Crane
Bank has been in operation for 12 years having been
established in 1995. The bank which has branches in
Kampala, Jinja, Iganga, Mbale, Lira and Gulu ranks
among the top five commercial banks in the country.
The bank was promoted by a prominent Ugandan businessman
in association with leading Ugandans from Industry,
Trade, Commerce, Finance and Insurance sectors and
now is one of the few banks having a total capital
base of over 54 Billion Shillings as at 31st December
2007.
Crane
Bank was once again voted Bank of the Year Uganda
in 2007 and was previously awarded the “Banker
of the year award” in 2003, 2005 and 2006 by
the Financial Times, UK. The deposit growth in its
12 years of existence has been the highest amongst
the local banks in Uganda. The bank enjoys the confidence
of major importers, embassies, International NGO’s,
large Projects with off shore funding as well as prime
participants from most segments of the Ugandan Economy.
As at 30th June 2007 Crane Bank was ranked No.2 in
Uganda, in terms of return on assets, No.2 on return
on equity, No.3 in terms of profitability, No.5 in
terms of advances and customer deposits, No.6 on total
assets.
The
Crane Bank’s management team consists of experienced
bankers, financial analysts, qualified accountants
and risk managers with considerable expertise in all
facets of banking including traditional banking, specialized
skill in handling advising and counseling on foreign
exchange transactions, merchant banking, retail &
wholesale banking, investment banking and international
trade |
